Inclusion Counselor
SpringHill is a non-profit that operates year-round experiences and the second largest network of summer camps in the US, serving 31,000 individuals annually with a sought-after 1:1 immersive inclusion program for individuals with special needs.
Within the inclusion program, I worked directly with participants with special needs to help create the best week of their summer! I did this through a meticulous process of understanding the camper then I altered schedules, activities, and processes to best suit the individual. This required me to pay attention to details, patterns, and uncover associations. Communicate with co-workers, advocate for the needs of the camper, and solve problems creatively.
I excelled in this role and was offered more responsibility for doing so. Additionally, I was praised by their parents.
Discovery Project
Discovery Project was a Gap Year program started by SpringHill in 2019. Its goal was to introduce participants to a wide breadth of industries, topics, and concepts.
I was a part of the pilot year and was directly responsible for participant engagement and the creation of outside experiences namely an international trip.
Jackson Coffee Company
Jackson Coffee Company has been operating multiple coffee shops in Jackson, Michigan for 16 years. It is known for its customer service and roasting its beans in-house
I joined the team as a Barista and quickly volunteered to join other aspects of the operation including the marketing team. I was granted more trust over time and with that came freedom to make large-scale changes to operational processes improving employee and customer experience.
